SEO in Nairobi, built for Google and AI answers

Found in the search, and named in the answer.

Gemial Digital runs SEO programmes for businesses in Kenya and the UK, covering technical search, local search and the AI answers that now sit above both. Every engagement starts with an audit of where the business actually appears today, in Google and in ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews. The work runs monthly, the reporting names conversions rather than rankings alone, and the AI visibility work is included rather than sold as an extra.

In plain terms

Four things have to be true before you get found

SEO is the work of making a business the source that search systems return. That now means two audiences: Google's results pages, and the AI answers that increasingly sit above them. The underlying work is the same, and it runs in four stages, every one of them done before anyone types a query. The AI half of it currently answers to five competing names, GEO, AEO, LLMO, AIO and AI SEO, with no winner yet.

  1. Readable by machines

Before anything can rank, a crawler has to reach the page, read it and finish. That means semantic HTML, a clean URL structure, pages that load without waiting on JavaScript, and a sitemap that matches reality. Most sites that never rank are not beaten on quality. They are unreadable, and nobody told them.

  2. Understood as an entity

Search systems do not match strings any more, they match things. Schema markup, consistent business details and clear internal linking tell Google and an AI model what your business is, what it sells and where it operates. Without that, a page can contain the right words and still be filed under nothing in particular.

  3. Relevant to the question

A page ranks when it answers the question that was actually asked, in the shape it was asked. That means covering a topic properly rather than repeating a keyword, answering the follow-up questions on the same page, and writing the direct answer first instead of burying it under an introduction.

  4. Cited as the source

An AI answer names a handful of sources and the rest of the internet is invisible. Being one of them takes the same three stages above plus a structure a model can quote: a short factual answer near the top, marked up, on a page that is clearly about that one thing. This is the part most SEO work has not caught up with.

How it works

The sequence, and what lands at each step.

  1. Audit and baseline

We measure where you actually appear before touching anything: rankings, organic sessions, conversions, and where AI engines currently name you or a competitor. You get the baseline as a document. If it says the work is not worth doing, it says that.

  2. Fix what blocks

Crawl errors, indexation gaps, slow pages, broken structure and missing schema. This is the unglamorous part and it is where most stuck sites are stuck. Nothing else compounds until it is done.

  3. Build the entity

Schema, consistent business details, internal linking and the profiles search systems cross-reference. This is what turns a site containing the right words into a business a search engine can identify.

  4. Publish to answer

Service pages and topic clusters written to answer the question in the shape it was asked, with the direct answer near the top so it can be quoted. Volume follows the plan, not a content quota.

  5. Report and compound

Monthly, in one document: rankings, sessions, conversions and AI citations. Then next month's plan, argued from those numbers rather than from a template.

Scope

What sits underneath this service.

Technical SEO and site health

Crawl, indexation, speed and Core Web Vitals, plus the structural faults that stop everything else working.

On-page SEO and content optimisation

Titles, headings, internal links and page structure, rebuilt so each page answers one thing clearly.

Local SEO and Google Business Profile

Profile optimisation, citations, reviews and location pages for businesses that sell within a radius.

AI search and answer optimisation

Answer-first formatting, quotable structure and the off-site mentions that decide whether an AI engine cites you.

Schema markup and entity optimisation

Structured data that tells search systems what your business is, not just which words your pages contain.

Content strategy and topical authority

Topic clusters and service pages that build depth in one subject rather than breadth across many.

Ecommerce SEO

Product and category pages, collection structure, internal search, filters and product schema for WooCommerce and Shopify.

Digital PR and link earning

Mentions and coverage from credible publications, which is what actually moves both rankings and AI citation.

SEO reporting and growth retainers

Ongoing management with monthly reporting that names conversions, not just positions.

Why us

Why this works differently.

  • We build the sites we optimise

Most SEO reports end as a list handed to a developer who never actions it. The technical fixes on your site get made by the person who found them, in the same week, because that person writes the code.

  • AI visibility is included, not invoiced separately

The market is adding GEO and AEO as a paid extra. The underlying work is the same four stages, so charging twice for it would be hard to defend.

  • You see your own numbers before you pay

The audit shows where you currently appear in Google and in AI answers for your own commercial queries. That is your data, not our case study.

Questions

The things people ask before they commit.

How much does SEO cost?

SEO with Gemial Digital starts at KES 85,000 a month (roughly $650). That is a floor rather than a package, and what moves it is the number of commercial queries in scope, whether the site needs technical remediation before anything can compound, whether we are producing content or optimising what already exists, and whether you are targeting Kenya alone or Kenya and an overseas market. AI answer visibility sits inside that number. Below roughly 30,000 a month, most of what is sold in Kenya is automated link building and surface tweaks, and it can leave you worse off than doing nothing.

Is SEO right for my business?

It is, if people already search for what you sell and you are not the one they find. It is not, if nobody searches for your category yet, or if your site cannot take a booking or an enquiry once someone arrives. In the second case the audit will say so and the honest answer is to fix that first.

How long before I see results?

Technical improvements show in two to six weeks. Movement on commercial queries usually appears between two and four months, and compounds after that. Anyone promising faster is describing a keyword nobody searches.

Do I have to sign a long contract?

No. It is monthly. SEO compounds, so leaving early wastes what you have already paid, but that is an argument for staying rather than a reason to be locked in.

What is GEO, AEO or AI SEO, and do I need it?

They are competing names for making a business visible inside AI answers rather than only in search results. It is included here, so the question of whether to buy it separately does not arise.

Can you do SEO on a site you did not build?

Yes, and the audit will tell you what it costs before you commit. If the site is built in a way that blocks search work, we will say so and price the remediation rather than bill you monthly for a programme that cannot compound.

Will you guarantee first position?

No, and nobody can. What is guaranteed is the reporting: you will know each month what changed, what it cost, and what it earned.

What do I actually receive each month?

One report naming rankings, organic sessions, conversions and AI citations, plus the plan for the following month argued from those numbers, plus the work itself shipped rather than recommended.

See where you already appear.

The audit shows where your business currently turns up in Google and in AI answers for the queries your customers actually use. You get the document whether or not you go further.
